Conference on Creativity

The 2020 CREATE Conference was about creativity.

Everyone talks about it but what does “being creative” really mean? And what significance does creativity have for our learning and cultivation? If you want to focus on creativity in your communications or teaching, there will be plenty of inspiration for you at this conference.

2020 Speakers

Martin Bigum

Internationally recognized visual artist, known particularly for his colourful paintings – and not least for his character “Art” and for his contributions to the Danish edition of Mad Magazine.

You may have seen the “Mesterhjerner” (‘Master Minds’) TV show with Peter Lund Madsen where Martin Bigum talks about his intense work to create paintings that are based on his senses. Hear him unfold his own personal journey into creativity and about how he has worked throughout his life to tame its power.

Jan Løhmann Stephensen
Associate Professor at the Department of Communication and Culture (Aesthetics and Culture), Aarhus University – and author of the book “Tænkepauser – Kreativitet” (“Breaks for thought – Creativity”).

How and why did we “come up with” our various creativities? And what forms of creativity have we found most relevant, exciting or rewarding in recent times? Jan Løhmann Stephensen answers these questions and looks at how new technologies transform creative forms and processes, while challenging the way we see ourselves as the creative being “par excellence”.
